Special Visit by IOI Representative on Newly Installed Automatic Boom Gate

On 18th May 2010, IOI representative had a special visit to our guard house to view our newly installed automatic boom gate.

Since 2009, the Puteri 12 Committee Members are deliberating on the issue regarding the installation of an automatic boom gate barrier system at the guardhouse area, to alleviate the traffic bottleneck at the guard house, especially during rush hours. It is also an easier way to differentiate between residents and non-residents entering Puteri 12 area.

Many important aspects were being discussed and carefully considered by the Committee Members. It was of the view that the benefits to reap from the system are far outweighing the installation cost in a long run. With this new system, it enables our security guards to scan the incoming vehicles and passengers at the “visitors’ lane” more cautiously.

We believes that this system could help us to tighten security and improve the safety level for Puteri 12 area. We also believe that our Puteri 12 community will be the most desirable community to live in and the properties’ value will definitely appreciate in prices, as safety neighbourhood is one of the good community attributes and the priority investment choice for new households.

The system currently is under pilot test by selective committee members to ensure the sytem is operating efficiently while waiting for IOI to widen the access road before launching it to Puteri 12 members. Meantime, you can start applying for the access card. A copy of the application form can be downloaded from the Security Access Card Application Form tab

  2. Dear Puteri 12 RA,

Thanks for your hard work. The automatic boom gate is welcomed.

On the other hand, the current Puteri 12 guard house at the top of the hill appears to be a little rundown. I assume the purpose of the white tiang at the guard house is to support the roof? If there is a problem with the roof, can the roof be fixed as a permanent solution?

Hope that the RA and IOI can work together to improve the outlook of the guard house. Considering that there are multi-million ringgit bungalows in Puteri 12, the current guard house makes a poor impression.

    Keep up the good work!

    Thank you for your comments.
The new boom gate system is currently under testing stage and trial run by selected members only. In due course, it will be make available to all members.
The system will extend to the rear access road leading to Puteri 11 as well in later stage.

    Thank you for your comments.
FYI, the purpose of the "white tiang" you noted at the guardhouse is not to support the roof but as an indicator for the driver (of heavy and tall vehicles) to negotiate the angle to avoid bumping into the roof of the guardhouse. The roof had been damaged before due to the carelessness of the driver who only looked at the wheel area.
The Committee takes note of your comment on the outlook of guardhouse and will bring up in our next monthly meeting.
