THE SECURITY AUTOMATIC BOOM GATES
This facility which was requested by out members and it is currently operating. Dato Lee Shin Cheng (IOI) had sponsored RM10, 000 for installing and maintenance. The responses from members were overwhelming; we purchased 1000 cards and delivered 900 cards. Should you require more cards, you are most welcome to apply. We would also like to thank all members for their tolerance especially by providing sufficient time for our Security Guards to familiarize with the new system. The guards are currently paid RM900 each per month, they work 12 hours per day under the host weather to secure us. Kindly be advice that by changing the Security Company, it’s a hazard for the community and not effective for the committee members who are only volunteers. All security companies are the same it’s how we manage them.

DOG DROPPINGS WARNING SIGNS
Recently there were a lot of complaints over the above matters. We had installed signboards on all playgrounds and some residents especially bungalow’s owners who had requested us to purchase additional signboard for them at RM20 each.

All dog owners (resident) of Puteri 12 are requested to carry newspapers and plastic bags to collect your dog droppings for disposal. Please keep our environment clean, safe and healthy, there is a lot of contagious viruses and diseases that may affect the entire community. All residents of Puteri 12, kindly assist to inform dog owners if they do not adhere to this matter

LATEST NEWS
Kindly be advice of a syndicate, they drive luxurious cards and are well dressed. This syndicate had approached our guards recently by informing them that they wanted to view the bungalow lots. Instead, they broke into 3 houses which the owners were away i.e. at work. The police had informed us that Peteri 8, 9 and 11 had also suffered a similar fate, some of their homes were also broken into recently. We had alerted our guards on this matter, to be more aware and cautious of these syndicates. Our resident police had managed to locate the cards that we involved in the recent break-in.

Further information will be posted in our website; you are most welcome to contribute your suggestions. Please visit our website http://puchongputeri12.blogspot.com/ for more information. The Star’s People’s Voice will Take Place in Bandar Puteri Puchong on July 17 – List of Issues Raised to Date

Common Issues raised at the meeting (24/6/10) by Dato Samson and add-on: -
  • There are no pedestrian facilities linking the residential zone and commercial zone, all pedestrians have to use the main road. No road safety.
  • More bus stops with proper shelter.
  • Building of road humps along roads with junction.
  • Lack of Community Hall and football field for Community activities in a modern Bandar. (Hopefully MPSJ will temporarily grant such facilities to the RA’s of Bandar Puteri in their new Puteri library complex)
  • No Schools at Bandar Puteri Puchong (especially Secondary)
  • Giant Shopping should repaint their internal traffic flow to guide cars to correct external exit with the change in outer traffic flow. It is accidents waiting to happen at present.

Crime Control Issues raised by Dato Samson: -
  • As RA’s we want to have our own community policing Committee for Puteri and Wawasan areas under our Balai. The current Committee is too big for all of Puchong and their charter says every Balai should have its own. Look at cops.org.my for details.
  • Residents would like to work out closer cooperation with the Balai and its officers and not just see them when there is a crime.
  • Status of Commercial crimes Investigation in covering Bukit Puchong and Bandar Puteri.
  • Status of cases covering photographic evidence given by RA on Car thieves and no action or news to date. 14 Months.
  • Proliferation of gambling arcades within range of Police Stations. MPSJ only covers licensing issues (fines RM 1k max – seizure is not legal as per bylaws) but police covers gambling as offences (seizure and jail or fine). Why this is not enforced? Grey areas do not allow one to encroach into the other leaving such establishments to thumb their noses on both parties. Residents and RA’s are concerned as children gamble away their allowances.
  • Procedures in making reports. What then on feedback?
  • Formation of RT and Rela Centres in Bandar Puteri.

Issues raised by Puteri 12 RA: -
  • Traffic Light or mini roundabout at our foot hill out to the main road Since Puchong Hartamas access road is operated, the traffic flow was very heavy. Residents in Puteri 12 are unable to use the main road, very dangerous to drive across and have various accidents.
  • Hawkers are now operating at the main road along the road going up to Puteri 12 causing a lot of inconvenience to us especially when traffic from Wawasan out to Puteri 12 are blocked by cars parking along the road for hawkers food. Why MPSJ allow hawkers to operate business along the main road blocking the traffic?
  • Public have been driving up to Puteri 12 hilltop every night and park their vehicles along the road causing a lot of inconvenience for residents and have caused a lot of accidents esp. they u-turn to park their vehicles along the whole stretch of the road which is already very narrow. Illegal and dangerous car parking ,drinking, throwing rubbish ,operating loud music, creating very unhealthy activities and causing inconvenience and fear robbery and stop residents cars especially during wee hours on Saturday and Sunday. Residents of Puteri 12 are very concern of our safety since this is the only access road to our houses and having nightmare and eye sore to see the inconsiderate public causing nuisance to our beautiful place.
  • Need to install road humps on Jalan Puteri 12/2 and along roads with junction to prevent speeding vehicles.
  • Need a community hall facilities and football field.
  • Electricity and Indah Water problems, few houses of Puteri 12 have switchboard on fire recently due to lopping system of 6 houses as inform by workers of TNB who come to repair the damage switchboards. Very dangerous and houses might be on fire especially daytime residents not at home. Overflow of water from Indah Water piping along the main road to the hilltop whenever heavy rain occurs. Indah Water staff will come and suck away the water but the root of the problem i.e. blockage in the piping system which need to rectify. Residents worried they might be erosion and finally landslides might occur.
  • Propose MPSJ to have a project every month to take away all rare dogs and cats.
  • Illegal houses built along Jalan 12/12, near the back guardhouse between Puteri 11 and 12.
  • Slow respond from MPSJ on complaint of potholes, cracked road surface and maintenance of playground of Puteri 12.
  • Need free shutter buses like Sunway and Bandar Utama residents providing for them, all residents of Bandar Puteri have problems for public transport.
  • Lack of sweepers swiping the streets, not sweep daily especially back lanes and drains.

Issues raised Puteri 6 RA: -
  • Need police patrol more in Bandar Puteri residential area. Why robbery cases reported to the Bandar Puteri station are not at all investigated.
  • Issues raised by IXORA RA (Puteri 6): -
  • Security - Police to patrol into each housing area even though those guarded, more frequently during day time, have log book at designated locations inside build brick wall fencing for those housing area along the main road (i.e. Lebuh Puteri) - IXORA is the only taman without one now
  • Public Transport - Ampang line LRT extension to cover Bandar Puteri in phase 1 of the whole project while the traffic volume along LDP still manageable.
  • Landscape - more appropriate types of trees to be planted in Bandar Puteri, and must be well taken care - it feels refreshing moving out from Bandar Puteri into Taman Wawasan
  • Community - public swimming pool should be built, hypermedia library process book loan manually - inefficient, and prone to "book theft" and seating capacity and book collection of hypermedia needs to improve.

Issues raised by Acacia RA (Puteri 7): -
  • Requests for another speed table in front of the existing speed table fronting Columbia Hospital as the present one is not effective in reducing speeding of oncoming cars. A lot of problems to cross the road for cars coming out of Puteri 7 area.
  • Another suggestion is for the road kerb at Lebuh Puteri fronting Puteri 7 to redesign the road junction similar to the existing junction in Puteri 6.
  • Jalan Puteri 7/1 and the whole of Puteri 7 need road resurfacing as it has been 10 years since the road was resurfaced. Further there also exist many potholes due to heavy traffic usage especially at Jalan Puteri 7/1 and Jalan Puteri 7/2.
  • Alam Flora personnel were supposed to sweep our back lanes and drains twice monthly, unfortunately this have been adhered to and hope MPSJ can assist us on this issue to ensure strict compliance to cleaning schedules by them. Further the playground in our area is also full of leafs. If left unattended it will create health issues. Please to ensure that the personnel doing the job clear the debris such as rubbish, leaves, etc within the same day.
  • The "No U-turn" sign fronting Columbia Asia is not effective as a lot of cars are still making U-turns at the junction. This is very dangerous as it hampers cars coming out from Puteri 7 and cars trying to enter Puteri 7 from the other side of the road. Accidents have already happened many times, luckily no DEATHS yet.

Issues raised by Puteri 8 RA: -
  • Long awaited U Turn sign for Puteri 8 Residents at traffic lights.
  • Bad conditions of roads and drainage issues with frequent potholes.
  • Urgent Request for Road widening at entrance and relocation of RA Cabin to Puteri 8/10 small padang with electricity connection.
  • Overgrown trees and incessant shedding of leaves that clog drains etc – Wrong type of tress planted.
  • Internal road humps for safety of residents.
  • Sewage line overflows and dumps sewage on the roads at entrance of Puteri 8/1 as well as traffic light junction from manhole every time there is a heavy shower.
  • Resurface our roads which are full of pot holes.

Issues raised by Puteri 9 RA: -
  • Current children's playground is tucked behind the back lane of Jalan Puteri 9/1C and too far for parents with young toddlers on pram;
  • Traffic coming into Aseana Condo poses accident risk as condo residents turn right before turning left into the condo.
  • Very sharp and narrow junction at 9/1 and 9/1B bearing in mind there is no through road and the road 9/1B serve 54 houses.
  • Residents would appreciate if MPSJ and/or IOI could -Redesignate the current Aseana showhouse area as new playground or basketball court; re-align or move the entry lane of Asean Puteri further in so that cars do not have to veer right before driving in and look into widening the junction.

Issues raised Aseana Puteri Condo (Puteri 9): -
  • Aseana Puteri Condo have corrected the entrance angle of vehicles in to the condo so as vehicle need not veer to the right before turning left into the condo. (SOLVED for item 2 raised by Puteri 9 RA) but will not be complete until we do the next thing which is for MPSJ/IOI to draw the road line in the middle to clear dividing for left and right. Building concrete divider, and road hump built with interlock brakes. Pictures below for detail. This either should be done by IOI or MPSJ.
  • Many Negroes hang around in Wawasan market and shop lot areas creating noises, peeing, drunk, quarrels and fighting. This area may not be in Bandar Puteri Puchong proper but it is our neighbor and may get out of hand if no control to this.
  • Realign the road lines from the LDP to the overhead bridge that connecting into Bandar Puteri.

Issues raised by Banyan RA (Puteri 10): -
  • The existence/approval of 6 kindergardens for an enclave with 361 households has added to the massive traffic flow. What are MPSJ criteria of approving kindergarden?
  • Installing road humps along Laman Puteri 2, near the entrance/exit of Banyan Guard house.
  • Slow respond from MPSJ on complaint of potholes, cracked road surface and maintenance of playground.
  • Inner roads at Banyan, Jalan Puteri 10/2-10/12 need resurfacing, potholes aplenty.

Issues raised by Melia RA (Puteri 10): -
  • Need to have a hump at the main road (both sides) just before our guardhouse to slow down oncoming cars from Puteri 11, Sri Bayu apartments and Puchong Hartamas. We have found that some cars are speeding and certain times dangerous for our residents to exit our area.
  • The playground condition at our area is badly maintained and urgently need upgrading e.g. the equipments, garden chairs, jogging path, ground condition etc.
  • The condition of roads at our area is very patchy resulting in uneven driving. We even have some residents doing their own patching work using cement after it has become unbearable.
  • Melia has too many entry/exit points (4) and we propose to close 2 of them. This will render our effort to safeguard this area easier.
  • We seldom see police patrolling our area. We would like to see an increase in this aspect.
  • There are hawkers setting up their stalls on the main road which makes the whole Bandar Puteri look messy and disorganized, especially for Puteri 9, 10 11 & 12. Also the image has been affected.

Issues raised of Puteri 11 RA: -
  • The surprise development of a massive 422 units condominium complex in between two steep slopes next to Puteri 11 by IOI.
  • Illegal and dangerous car parking on both roadsides of Jalan Puteri 11/1 by Bayu Apartment residents.
  • Need to install road humps on Jalan Puteri 11/1, 11/1A and 11/13 to prevent speeding vehicles.
  • Remove unsightly and Ah Long advertisements on trees, lamp posts and parameter fencing.
  • Need a football field and community hall facilities.
  • Request for more frequent and faster response to infrastructure maintenance service.

Mother's Day Walkathon on 15th May 2010

Early on the morning of May 15, a crowd of women turned up at the Vista playground. They were there for the Mother’s Day Walkathon, held in honor of the hardworking mothers at Puteri 12. This activity was held to encourage homemakers to come out and get to know their fellow neighbors. As the sky began to brighten, more people came to register themselves, readily clad in their sports attire.

The participants were separated into two categories, Group A (age 50 years and above) and Group B (below 50 years old). There were 42 participants in Group A, significantly more compared to Group B, which only had about half that number.

The contestants were briefed about the route before the walkathon and soon, they were off!

Group A started first, followed by Group B a little later. The walkathon route started and ended at the playground.

When everyone had finished the race, refreshments of drinks, nasi lemak and beehoon were ready for them to tuck into.

Prize giving was next. Our RA chairwoman, Betty Yap and the Walkathon organizing chairwoman, Madam Tan Sook Ha gave out the prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd and two consolation prizes for each category) to the winners, who posed happily for the photographer.

H1N1 Vaccine Free For All Malaysian @ Government Hospitals & Clinics Nationwide

Yet only 123,000 Malaysian had been given the vaccine.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow told that there is no reason to fear side effect of the new vaccine, except a slight pain in the arm, mild fever and dizziness among some people. He further advised the public should take advantage of free vaccination being offered at government health facilities.

There were 519 H1N1 cases where 61 are confirmed cases while eight have been admitted to the intensive care unit so far.

Special Visit by IOI Representative on Newly Installed Automatic Boom Gate

On 18th May 2010, IOI representative had a special visit to our guard house to view our newly installed automatic boom gate.

Since 2009, the Puteri 12 Committee Members are deliberating on the issue regarding the installation of an automatic boom gate barrier system at the guardhouse area, to alleviate the traffic bottleneck at the guard house, especially during rush hours. It is also an easier way to differentiate between residents and non-residents entering Puteri 12 area.

Many important aspects were being discussed and carefully considered by the Committee Members. It was of the view that the benefits to reap from the system are far outweighing the installation cost in a long run. With this new system, it enables our security guards to scan the incoming vehicles and passengers at the “visitors’ lane” more cautiously.

We believes that this system could help us to tighten security and improve the safety level for Puteri 12 area. We also believe that our Puteri 12 community will be the most desirable community to live in and the properties’ value will definitely appreciate in prices, as safety neighbourhood is one of the good community attributes and the priority investment choice for new households.

The system currently is under pilot test by selective committee members to ensure the sytem is operating efficiently while waiting for IOI to widen the access road before launching it to Puteri 12 members. Meantime, you can start applying for the access card. A copy of the application form can be downloaded from the Security Access Card Application Form tab

Mr Lee's Farewell Party on April Fools' Day

On 1 April 2010, we held a farewell dinner party to thank Mr Lee Tong Fong for all the hard works that he had contributed for the Puteri 12 community in the past few years. The farewell party was held at Sri Anggerek restaurant that served Indonesian delicacy. Almost all the committee members took their time to attend the dinner.

Mr Lee Tong Fong, our immediate past chairman for the resident association of Puteri 12 is a well respect and generous person. Even though the party was held on April Fools' Day, the hard works that Mr Lee had done for us is definitely not a joke. Without his hard work and dedication, the RA Puteri 12 will not be so established and successful as it is today.

In addition to the farewell, the committee members also celebrated Dato’ Mahsun Haji Taib's birthday that fall on the April Fools' Day. We bought a big, juicy fruit cake to celebrate Dato’ Mahsun's big day.

The dinner went on well and happening that every member enjoyed the Indonesian cuisine. On that memorable day, our current chairperson, Madam Betty Yap gave a recognition award to all the committee members that contributed to the past events and to appreciate all their hard works.

Besides that, in appreciation of Mr Lee's dedication for the Puteri 12 community, we invited our senior advisor, Mr John Lok to present a plague and certificate to Mr Lee for his significant hard works and dedication for Puteri 12.

The dinner ended at 10pm, everyone went home with a happy smile on their face and satisfied stomach with good food.

Act Against Crime Together Building A Safer Puteri 12

Prevent House Robbery And Theft - Act Against Crime Together Building A Safer Puteri 12

    1. Know all the emergency numbers
      • Bandar Puteri Police Station: 03-80632222
      • Our Security:
        Mr Cicak (Manager) 016-361 8502
        Mr Ramesh: 012-615 3511 (Day)
        Mr Kumar: 016-6276872 (Night)
      • General Emergencies Numbers
        Police/Ambulance: 999
        Civil Defence: 991
        Fire & Rescue: 994
        Call from Any Handphone: 112
        Electrical Breakdown: 15454
        Gas Emergency: 995
        Water Woes (Selangor): 1800-88-5252
    2. Make provision of good lighting, but switch the lights off during the day. Outside lights that are on during the day and posts that are left in the mailbox are signs of no-one being home. Do not leave your gates, front or back door open or partially open – it serves as an invitation to burglars.
    3. Never open the door immediately or the front automatic gate whenever the door bell rings or if someone knocks. Make completely sure the person wanting to enter is expected. Domestic helpers, garden staff and children are often approached by robbers who act as salesperson, telephone or TV repairmen, electricians, plumbers, TV licence or inspectors and many other professions. Even be careful if it is a lady or elderly person. In an effort to gain entrance robbers use a handphone and make as if they are talking to the owner of the house so as to put pressure on unsuspecting victims to open the gate or door. Those remaining at home should be made aware of these scams. Emphasise the need for security to your domestic helper, so too ensuring his/her own safety. Arrange with people who remain at home on how you will inform them if there is a need for them to open the house for deliveries, maintenance work or repairs. Always use the same procedure and inform the companies involved that they will not gain access unless you have made a specific arrangement.
    4. A watchdog is a good early warning system. Keep it visible as a deterrent but beyond the reach of strangers. The unexplainable death of a watchdog is a warning sign of a possible burglary.
    5. If your house alarm goes off, or you hear strange noises or your dogs bark switch on the outside (front or back) lights and investigate. If you feel uncomfortable, call our security to investigate. If you are sure of a robber in progress, immediately call the police.
    6. Always check the identity of strangers who visit for business purposes, to do deliveries or repairs. Ensure that you stay out of their reach to prevent being grabbed through a closed gate.
    7. Report suspicious characters who pose a threat to our security guards or the police. When employing someone request their identity document and make a copy thereof for safekeeping. Check their previous employment references and do security clearances at the police at Bukit Aman.
    8. Install the best security you can afford. Do not rely on the standard locks installed by the developers because it is very easy to open. Replace those locks with some high-tech locks.
    9. When approaching your house entrance by foot or by car ensure that it is safe to enter and that you have not been followed. Be aware of persons loitering at the entrance and always be alert to look behind your car if there is a stranger car following you. If you suspect you are being followed, immediately take down the vehicle number and description and drive to our security posts or the nearest police station. Most robbers use luxury vehicles to avoid being suspected.
    10. Always keep you keys safe to prevent duplication thereof. Never leave your house keys under a doormat or in a pot plant. Once you have locked your door from the inside remove the key and place it in a safe place. Do not leave keys in a hidden place for domestic staff or children, robbers often stake out a house and will find out about these hiding places. Do not give keys to people who do not live on the property or to anyone if it is not absolutely necessary.
    11. Know your neighbours and build a relationship of mutual trust and support. When going away inform them and the security guards to keep an eye on your house.
It is always best to arrange with persons living in the same street as you to be ready at all times to come to the rescue of one another in dangerous or suspicious times. Exchange phone numbers or signalling methods when you find yourself in distress. Your strength always lies in how many people are able to support you in an emergency.
    12. If you buy luxury goods, cut up the boxes and dispose of these in tied black bags. A branded box is a telltale sign of what thieves could find in your house. Keep cash and valuables in banks or safes.
    13. If your house has been broken into, contact your nearest police station immediately. Wait until fingerprints and statements are taken before touching anything. Do not allow private security companies to enter the house or touch anything before the police have arrived.
A list of the make, model and serial numbers of electrical appliances and other valuable equipment should always be available for investigation purposes.
    14. If you are held up during a robbery, just surrender everything the robbers want and do not fight them. If you believe you can over power the robbers, please think twice and consider the safety of your family members. But if you have the opportunity to escape, run out and scream for help.
    Don’t be a miser… But be wiser…
We care for our safety and yours too…

    Mid Autumn Festival Gathering 2008

On 13 September 2008, Puteri 12 committee had organised a Moon-cake (a.k.a. Mid-Autumn) Festival Gathering for the third time at our playground. Our theme of the event is “GET TO KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOURS”. There were approximately 2000 people who turned up for this meaningful event!

A variety of games were organized for all the residence to enjoy and get to know each other.

A total of 35 hawker stalls were set up surrounding the playground, with a large variety of local food from Chinese cuisine to Malay cuisine and to Indian cuisine. We were certainly sure that all of the residents in Puteri 12 were able to enjoy different types of food during the meaningful night! As a token of appreciation, the RA12 had given out complimentary food and drinks coupon of RM30 for all members for supporting the community all these years.

Besides that, the most exciting and rewarding event of the night goes to none other than the LUCKY DRAW! There were gifts and cash prizes given out to the lucky persons of the night, congratulation to all of those who won a prize that night!

It was no doubt a spectacular, memorable and unforgettable day for all the residents of Puteri 12. We would like to thank all of the sponsors who support us for the Mid Autumn festival gathering event!
We are looking forward for another gathering this year! Stay tune!
